Two commercials for tradesmen's products
By Andy Zimmermann, voice over artist
Over the past few weeks I completed two productions, both straight to the point and taken directly from the working life of tradespeople:
Big Sack: the innovative skip bag for tradespeople
For the new online commercial for www.bigsack.ch I gave the Big Sack a voice. In confident Zurich German, speaking straight to the target group: ‘uncomplicated, efficient and without frills’. The tone? Hard and clear, on a level with everyone who does the work on a building site. Production, recording and editing came straight out of my sound studio, following a clear brief from the client.
Albiro: a new collection of workwear for tradespeople
For Albiro, a long established company from Bern, I recorded a commercial in the typical Bernese German that presents the new workwear collection. The message: ‘robust, reliable and ready for the working day of tradespeople’. Here too the style was deliberately hard and clear. The language speaks to exactly those who give everything on site. For the client’s agency I recorded, edited and mixed the script, ready to be dropped straight into the video production.
Both projects show how the right choice of dialect and tone makes sure the target group is properly addressed.
